Corporate Actions: Events, Elections & Entitlements

A sample BA case study focused on mandatory and voluntary events, income processing, election deadlines, entitlement calculation, and downstream reporting impact.

This section is being developed as a sample case study showing how corporate action and asset servicing events flow through custody and post-trade operations.

The case study will cover how event notifications are received, validated, enriched, routed, actioned, and reflected in positions, cash balances, client reporting, and operational controls. It will also show how business rules can be documented for mandatory events, voluntary elections, income payments, redemptions, splits, mergers, and other asset servicing activities.

Planned focus areas include:
• Mandatory and voluntary corporate action events
Event notification, client communication, and validation workflow
• Election capture and deadline management
• Entitlement calculation and payment processing
• Position, cash, and reporting impact
• Exception handling and operational controls
• Sample user stories, acceptance criteria, and UAT scenarios
