Regulatory Reporting: Source-to-Report Traceability
A sample BA case study focused on source-to-report lineage, data controls, reconciliation, validation rules, attestation workflow, and reporting readiness.
This section is being developed as a sample case study showing how regulatory, management, and control reporting processes can be supported through clear business requirements, data lineage, controls, validation rules, and UAT scenarios.
The case study will examine how source data flows through transformation, aggregation, reconciliation, review, and approval steps before it reaches a reporting output. It will also show how a Business Systems Analyst can document report requirements, data mappings, business rules, control points, exception workflows, and sign-off processes.
Planned focus areas include:
• Source-to-report traceability
• Data sourcing, transformation, and aggregation rules
• Reconciliation and validation controls
• Reporting exception management
• Business review and attestation workflow
• UAT scenarios for report accuracy and completeness
• Sample user stories, acceptance criteria, and data mapping artifacts
